He studied at the Art Institute of California and since then he has earned a recognized and extensive career in the world of cinema, whether as a filmmaker, producer, photojournalist or film critic.
His articles, poems, books, films and art criticism have been published in Africa, West Africa, Africa Woman, Ophelia, Entertainer, The Guardian Newspapers (Lagos), Newswatch and Media Review.
He is a co-founder of A-Productions for which he produced in 1988 Vigilante , and wrote and directed Ose Samgo (1991) with which he won the Best Nigerian Film of the Year Award from the Hubert Ogunde Foundation.
He has done several works for television, among them highlights the series Family circle (1997), with which he won several outstanding awards.
Adesanya was the director of West African Pictures Company Limited and general secretary of the Independent Association of Television Producers of Nigeria (ITPAN). He is currently the director of the Nigerian Film Corporation .
